TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TTA)
NTTAC provides TTA in the form of support or consultation, or support to improve skills or capacity for individuals, organizations or agencies who are building comprehensive systems to support the well-being of children, youth, young adults, and families.
NTTAC TTA may include training, coaching, tools or resources. The goal of TA is to help people or organizations become more effective and efficient in their work. We recognize this is complex work that requires time, partnership, coordination, and leadership.
Our goal is to support your efforts to develop an array of mental health services that are comprehensive, equitable, culturally engaging, and create positive outcomes so that individuals and communities thrive. We recognize your journey may be complex, requiring you to take a risk, commit time and resources, establish partnerships, and support leadership to achieve a united goal. We look forward to helping you advance your efforts.
NTTAC provides TTA in a variety of ways including:
- Hosting collective small groups of people who share common challenges and goals and who are learning and taking action together, and supporting each other in the process
- Providing space for group learning such as presentations, webinars, trainings, and curricula designed to meet specific needs,
- Developing Products such as infographics, briefing documents, podcasts, webinar series, etc. on topics of interest and need in the field of children’s mental health, and
- Responding to requests for individual technical assistance and consultation to meet your organization or agency where you are by providing direct and customized consultation, guidance and recommendations or training designed to help you accomplish a specific outcome. (link to form)
Individualized Technical Assistance and Consultation
We invite you to complete the NTTAC TA Request Form if you are seeking individual technical assistance to advance specific actions or accomplish defined outcomes in your community, state, or jurisdiction. Those might include actions such as:
- Review and provide feedback on policy development
- Creating a sustainability plan that includes financial or resource mapping
- Defining system building and cross-sector partnership strategies
- Drafting a interagency agreements describing agencies’ commitments to developing a system of care in your community
- Developing (or refining) a plan of action to ensure equitable service delivery and outcomes for diverse populations and community members
- Identifying under-served populations and employing outreach strategies for engagement in care
- Providing strategic approaches to resource allocation or system reform such as reducing reliance on residential services, reducing out of home treatment, and returning youth from out of state placement, etc.
- Introductory System of Care training for cross-system partners
- Coaching for new organizational leaders

At NTTAC, we believe in the power of community and shared learning. We ask that TA recipients consider how organizations, networks, communities, systems, or states might learn from you. Once your individual TA engagement with NTTAC is complete, we would like to talk with you about whether you would be willing to create and share a product or event with others describing your journey and accomplishments. Products include, but are not limited to, a short write up, article, blog, a tip sheet, a research brief, an infographic, short video, panel participation, webinar, etc. Please speak with your TA consultant to learn more.
